For the last few years, the phrase “going green” has been widely used. Overused, some might say. Nonetheless, there’s a reason to all the talk: Becoming more efficient.
Most of the time we hear about what we can do at home to be more “green”. So what about at work? We spend over 40 hours per week at work, so it seems making changes there could make a big impact too, right?
In an office, there are many reasons to go green. Not only is there a potential positive environment impact, but you can also save money by implementing certain “green” policies and supplies.
In addition, there are legal implications. Some cities are taking more of an interest in environmental issues that businesses need to be aware of. For example, San Diego now requires that businesses recycle rigid plastics. It is important to look into your city’s laws to make sure you’re compliant.
Here are a few small ways to begin making a change. Remember, all those little changes can add up to a big impact.
You may consider meeting with your team to get other ideas that could help to make a difference. See where you can get creative and efficient!
